Catholic Health has named the most popular baby names that have been given to babies born in their hospitals this year and two names ruled the list.

It's hard to give a baby a name.  t's the most important thing you can give your child and it sticks with them for their entire life. How do you pick it?  Do you just go with what you like? Do you wait until you see them and give them a name that you think fits the way they look?

If you are going off a list, do you pick the name that is the most popular? Or do you look at those lists and then just stay away from all of the names on it all together? Some people just like to see what's popular and what's trending.

In any case, according to WIVB, here is this year's list of the top baby names of 2020 in order by popularity:

Boys

  1. Noah
  2. Jack
  3. Oliver
  4. Henry
  5. Lincoln
  6. Jackson
  7. Logan
  8. Lucas
  9. Michael

There was a six-way tie for the 10th name on the list. They were:  James, Joseph, Leo, Mason, Samuel, Wyatt

Liam was the most popular boy name on last year's list. This year, it didn't even make the top ten. It came in at No. 21 this year.

Girls:

  1. Olivia
  2. Charlotte
  3. Ava
  4. Evelynn
  5. Ella
  6. Avery
  7. Nora
  8. Eleanor
  9. Mia
  10. Sophia

Olivia was on the list last year too at No. 3. Charlotte was the most popular name and it only dropped one spot this year. My guess is, you're going to see quite a few Charlottes in the upcoming years.
