Thousands of people packed in to watch the fireworks downtown at Canalside last night.

The fireworks display was supposed to begin at 10 p.m., but due to an electrical problem, they ended up starting around 40 minutes later.

There were also reports of supposed gunfire toward the end of the display, according to WIVB. Dozens of people were spotted running out of the venue when the rumors began.

However Buffalo Police say that there are no confirmed reports of any gun fire, and that the sounds most likely came from the echoes coming off buildings from fireworks.
