The Buffalo Sabres are wrapping up the season tonight against the Chicago Blackhawks at KeyBank Center.

The evening is a special one as legendary Sabres play-by-play man Rick Jeanneret is calling his final career game.

The Sabres for the occasion are wearing their white jerseys, which fans always love since it’s the way the NHL used to be before the lockout in 2004-2005. The Bills first-round pick Kaiir Elam is also at the game with Josh Allen and Dawson Knox.

But the coolest part of the night might be who sing the anthem. A current Sabres player sung the National Anthem.

Sabres goaltender Malcolm Subban sung the anthem and it was such a cool sight to see a current player get that honor.

Subban came over in a trade back in December but hasn’t played much in Buffalo since he was injured.

I can’t recall when a current player sung the anthem for his team’s game. I wish I would have been there for that moment.

Also, hopefully the Sabres can win RJ’s last game in Buffalo. We will miss you, RJ!
