It was one year ago today that Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown declared today as "One Buffalo" day, and tonight the city will be celebrating with the Buffalo Sabres Home Opener.

Festivities will get underway with the Party In the Plaza starting at 4:30 this afternoon, followed by a pre-game ceremony just before the puck drops at 7:00P.M.

New security measure will also be in place with new metal detectors at all the entrances into the First Niagara Center. You will be required to place cell phones and cameras on a security table before walking through the detector, but you will not have to remove any shoes, belts or jewelry. You are encouraged to only bring in what you need to watch the game.

Go Sabres!!!
