It's no secret that the restaurant industry has been hard hit since the spring of 2020, due to the pandemic. Restaurants went from open to closed, with an opening but having restrictions, having takeout only, and everything in-between.

Many restaurants around Western New York stayed closed even after they were allowed to reopen, and one of those restaurants is finally reopening to the public after a long hiatus.

Bijou Grille on Main Street in Buffalo will finally be reopening this Friday after being closed since the pandemic started, according to WGRZ.

The Bijou Grille is also celebrating its 30th anniversary this fall and it's newly renovated. Shea's Performing Arts Center is also reopening Friday night, and Bijou Grille is a popular spot for those heading to the shows at Shea's.

Bijou Grille says they were able to fill available positions needed before reopening. Restaurants everywhere have been struggling with shorts staffs, even having to close in extreme circumstances, but Bijou Grille was able to avoid that obstacle.

It's easy to forget that some businesses stayed closed until this point or recently because of the pandemic, but it's great to see Bijou Grille open once again, in what is a historic part of Downtown Buffalo that will be great to see a return to normal with Shea's Performing Arts Center.

Should be a fun time down there heading into the fall.
