A local favorite restaurant recently moved to a new location and to christen the new building they commission an amazing mural for the side of their building.

Carmine's was a local fixture in East Amherst for many years but just a couple of weeks ago they moved into a new building on Transit road near Main street in Williamsville.

They are now located right across the street from the TJ Maxx and BFLO Store on Transit road. To mark the occasion they hired a local artist to create a huge floor-to-ceiling mural on the side of the building.

I had seen some photos of the mural online but yesterday I had a chance to see it in person and it is truly a work of art. The details, the colors, and the sheer size of the mural are quite breathtaking. Here are a couple of photos I snapped yesterday.

The mural was created by local artist Micael Biondo.

Of course, this is not the only amazing mural we have here in Western New York. Recently a new Goo Goo Doll mural was painted in Buffalo and there have been plenty of murals painted around Western New York over the past several years.

Stunning Mural Transforms Oneonta, NY Eyesore Into Eye Candy

A building that the City of Oneonta plans to demolish, and one of Oneonta, NY's biggest eyesores, has been getting a major makeover thanks to artist James R. Mcilroy, owner of Wolfhound Studio which is a tattoo and art studio at 269 Main Street, Oneonta. Mcilroy has been creating murals on the side of the former Oneonta Sales building on the corner of Market St. and Chestnut St. Extension - a building formerly used as storage by the Twelve Tribes group in Oneonta. Now, instead of focusing on the ugliness of this horrible structure, the eye is drawn instead to the beauty of Mcilroy's artwork. Talk about a transformation!
