Lake effect snow pummeled the Buffalo area last night, leaving over three feet of snow in some areas and forcing the closure of over 100 miles of the state Thruway. The National Weather Service says that it is capable of producing snowfall rates of four inches per hour.  Some locations effected by the snow band include the City of Buffalo, Alden, West Seneca and Orchard Park, Cheektowaga, Depew, Darien and Lancaster.

Keep up with the Buffalo road closings here.
