Buffalo Police Phase Out Traffic Unit
The Buffalo Police Department is phasing out one of its units as we get ready to start a new year. 2020 has changed so many things and because of the lack of large events, there has not been a need for police to assist with traffic.
We have had to cancel numerous events this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The WYRK Toyota Taste of Country was initially postponed with the hopes that things could improve and allow for fans to be in the stands at Sahlen Field. However, we eventually had to cancel our show. There are plans to get a great show put together at some point in 2021 IF the state guidelines allow for a show like that to happen. Each year, we welcome at least 20,000 people to join us for what has been the biggest one day concert in Buffalo every year. Like any other large event in the city, we count on the Buffalo Police to help move that many people in and out of the downtown area as smooth as possible.
