The Willie Hutch Jones Educational and Sports Program will take part in Major League Baseball's 'Play Ball Weekend' this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There will be free events for kids ages 5 to 12-years-old. Dr. Willie Hutch Jones, one of the founders of WHJESP said,

We at TEAMHUTCH are elated by the continued partnership with the Buffalo Bisons and MLB in providing learning opportunities and positive experiences for young athletes in Western New York.

Friday, June 10, 2022
4:30 to 6:30 pm

WHJESP will offer a free “chalk talk,” about baseball, softball, and life skills. The talk will be led by WHJESP baseball and softball team leaders. After the discussion, a baseball “short” film will be shown. The event will be held at the Johnnie B. Wiley Pavilion tower entrance at Jefferson and Dodge, in the second-floor activity room. Children ages 5 to 12-years-old are welcome to attend the free event. Food, beverages, and popcorn will be provided. Registration will be on-site.

Saturday, June 11, 2022
10 am to 2 pm

WHJESP and the Buffalo Bisons will offer a free "One-Day Youth Clinic," for kids ages 5 to 12-years-old at McCarthy Park. The clinic will provide instruction on hitting, fielding, throwing, catching, and running. There will also be a Pitch, Hit & Run and Home Run Derby Competition. A free lunch will be served. Attendees will need to pre-register as there is a limit of 300 participants. You can register your child online.

All children who register will receive a FREE ticket to the Bisons game on Sunday, June 12 against the Worcester Red Sox (1:05 p.m.) at Sahlen Field. The first 175 kids to register will also receive a FREE Franklin Bat & Ball Set.

Sunday, June 12
Kids who register for the "One-Day Youth Clinic," will be able to attend the Buffalo Bisons game as they host the IL East Division rival Red Sox at Sahlen Field.

After the game, all kids will be allowed onto the field to run the bases and take part in a homerun challenge, taking a swing at hitting a baseball off a tee and out of the ballpark.
