I recently read an article in the New York Times and just had to share the good news with me fellow Buffalonians. If you were asked, where do you think young college grads go to live? You'd likely say San Francisco, New York City or even Nashville. Would you believe a higher percentage choose Buffalo, New York over San Francisco?

Also in the New York Timesreport:

The economic effects reach beyond the work the young people do, according to Enrico Moretti, an economist at the University of California, Berkeley, and author of “The New Geography of Jobs.” For every college graduate who takes a job in an innovation industry, he found, five additional jobs are eventually created in that city, such as for waiters, carpenters, doctors, architects and teachers.

And that is certainly true for downtown Buffalo, New York with all the recent development.

So as more and more of our young students are moving to the heart of cities like Buffalo and Cleveland and as my son prepares to graduate from Buffalo State College, I'm going to encourage him to stay right where, where the jobs are. Yes, this is where college students seem to be flocking to, and we love it!
