The fall festivities are still four months away, but that does not mean that people are not already looking forward to it.

You've heard the saying before -- "elite season," when referring to autumn. The fall foliage, the pumpkins, the pumpkin spice, the apple cider, the horror movies and everything else that makes you crave that crisp fall air.

Even though we haven't even reached summertime yet, it looks like you can enjoy some scares at a local haunted attraction, much earlier than usual this year.

According to their Facebook page, The Haunted Forests announced that they could very well be opening on August 1st for a special "Halloween come early" attraction.

The Haunted Forests is located on Beebe Road in Newfane and recently debuted in Western New York as a new haunted attraction.

They have a haunted forest, town and hayrides to scare locals.

The haunted house community suffered a blow in 2021, as House of Horrors and Haunted Catacombs closed its doors after years of being in business in the Buffalo region.

Frightworld should be back in full force this fall, as they returned last year, after taking 2020 off due to the pandemic.

I'm a fan of watching horror movies year-round and people love haunted houses are typically diehard fans, so this is a great idea; to open in the summer, even if only briefly.

House of Horrors and Haunted Catacombs did a farewell week last summer, when they announced 2021 would be it for them.

Perhaps a summer scare will be more normal in the years to come.
