The Buffalo Bills are getting ready for their final regular season game of the 2021 regular season. The Bills host the Jets this Sunday at 4:25 at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park.

Some of the stress of this game has been taken off since the Bills have already clinched a playoff spot this past Sunday, when they defeated the Atlanta Falcons and the Los Angeles Rams beat the Baltimore Ravens.

The Bills still have to clinch the AFC East, which they can do with a win or a New England Patriots loss this Sunday.

The playoffs still have no matchup decided yet in the AFC. The Bills are likely to be the 3 or 4 seed if they win, but the 2 seed is also possible. The Bills also have a slight chance to fall all the way to 7.

But let's assume the Bills win against the Jets, and are in fact the 3 or 4 seed. They will most likely face the New England Patriots in the Wild Card Round. As of today, the Bills have roughly a 33 percent chance to face New England in the first playoff game.

In fact, not only will that be a third matchup this season, it could make NFL history.

According to Peter King of NBC, he predicts that if the Bills and Patriots do square off, the NFL will put that in the first-ever Monday Night Football timeslot for the Wild Card Playoff round; January 17th at 8:15 pm.

That matchup would be on ESPN, as well as ESPN2 with Peyton and Eli Mannning's "MannningCast", along with bonus coverage on ESPN+.

It makes a lot of sense to put a big-time rivalry with a star NFL quarterback (Josh Allen) in that timeslot.

Now, we just have to see if it happens.
