The Buffalo Bills are coming off three straight playoff appearances and back-to-back AFC East titles.

The biggest on-field takeaway for Bills fans is the drastic turnaround in offense in 2020. These past two seasons have involved the Bills throwing it all over the field with Josh Allen and company, which has been a blast to watch.

As the Bills head into free agency, there's some question has to who will be back on that side of the ball.

Emmanuel Sanders and Isaiah McKenzie are pending unrestricted free agents and former offensive coordinator Brian Daboll left to be the New York Giants new head coach.

Quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator Ken Dorsey was promoted to offensive coordinator in Buffalo and former Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Joe Brady became the Bills new quarterbacks coach.

There's little doubt that general manager Brandon Beane will address wide receiver in free agency and the draft, but what about a second tight end? To pair with Dawson Knox?

The Bills didn't run a lot of 12 man personnel the last two years. For those who don't know, that means two tight end sets and one running back; often with two wide receivers.

That's probably because the Bills only had Tommy Sweeney as the viable pass catching option behind Knox and there's reason to think the Bills want a great second tight end to create mismatches with opposing defenses.

Buffalo native and future Hall of Fame tight end, Rob Gronkowski, is set to become a free agent next week and there has been growing speculation that the Bills will pursue him to close out his career in his hometown.

Gronkowski has spent the past two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after spending the first 10 years of his career with the New England Patriots. He could come back to Tampa, retire, or select another team in free agency.

The Bills could also be interested in the likes of Zach Ertz, Mo-Allie Cox, Gerald Everett or O.J. Howard on the open market. They could also opt to sign Giants tight end Evan Engram. He is also an unrestricted free agent next week.

The Bills adding another viable pass-catching tight end to pair with Dawson Knox makes a lot of sense. It will change the way defenses have played the Bills and create more room for Knox and Stefon Diggs.
