The Buffalo Bills announced that they hired their first full-time female to the coaching staff, making NFL history!!! 

The Bills confirmed that Kathryn Smith has been promoted as the new Quality Control-Special Teams Coach.

Rex Ryan said that Kathryn has done an outstanding job working with the staff, and she certainly deserves this promotion, based on her knowledge and strong commitment.

Kathryn Smith started her career with the New York Jets as an intern, and quickly worked her way up to a Player Personnel Assistant, then Assistant to the Head Coach. She then followed Rex Ryan to Buffalo, where she has served as Administrative Assistant to the Head Coach.

The upcoming season will be Kathryn's 14th season working inside the NFL.
