it is not east being really, really good at your job and Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane knows this, especially from the texts he got from other NFL GMs on draft day.

Brandon Beane was talking with a reporter from ballysports.com when he said that most of the angry texts came after he made a certain pick.

Those texts were on Day 3 of the NFL draft and came after the Bills made a deal with the Chicago Bears to move up 20 spots in the 5th round. With that pick, the Bills selected Khalil Shakir from Boise State.

Many NFL experts think that Shakir will become a very good NFL wide receiver and getting him in the 5th round will be considered a steal over the next couple of years.

Most other NFL GMs had Shakir on their draft board as well which prompted a slew of angry texts to Beane saying for the most part..."dang it, we wanted him" but not as nicely said like that.

Beane has a history of getting good value in the later rounds, especially wide receiver.  Last year's breakout playoff star Gabe Davis was a 4th round pick by Big Baller Beane in 2020.

So far in his career, Davis has caught 70 passes for 1148 yards and 14 touchdowns. He is known for his toe-tapping sideline catches along with his four-touchdown performance against the Kansas City Chiefs in last year's playoff game.

Will Shakir become the next Gabe Davis or even like another 5th-round draft pick, Stefon Diggs, for the Buffalo Bills? Big Baller Beane thinks so and doesn't mind a couple of angry texts if he gets his guy.
