Bruce Springsteen didn't waste any time paying tribute to Prince during his concert in Brooklyn on Saturday. Springsteen and the E Street Band honored the late icon as soon as they took the stage, bathed in purple light.

They played a stirring cover of Prince's 1984 hit, "Purple Rain," with guitarist Nils Lofgren on the song's huge guitar solo as the crowd at the Barclays Center sang along in unison. At the song's close, Springsteen said, ""Prince forever! God bless."

Sadly, it was the third time Springsteen has honored a music luminary who died this year with a cover tribute: He previously played David Bowie's "Rebel Rebel" and the Eagles' "Take It Easy" for the late Glenn Frey.
