April is Stress Awareness Month, and as much as we try to ignore it we all deal with stress in our lives.  Some things that we do mask stress, it is better to manage it.

Here are some tips from the experts at WebMD:

  • Exercise regularly
  • Eat healthy, well-balanced meals
  • Keep a positive attitude
  • Accept there are events you can't control
  • Be assertive, not agressive
  • Make time for hobbies
  • Get enough rest

There are additional things you can practice like meditation, yoga, or tai-chi but you will have to budget time for them.

Seek treatment with a psychologist or other mental health professional trained in stress management or biofeedback techniques to learn healthy ways of dealing with the stress in your life.

A word to the wise...never rely on drugs, alcohol or compulsive behaviors to reduce stress in your life.
