Buffalo and surrounding WNY areas are a 'hotbed' for paranormal activity. It is very easy to find haunted tours, or hear chilling tales of things that go "bump in the night".  Even if you are a non-believer there is no doubt that people love to get 'spooked' and I just recently came across another unique venue and event to do just that.

The Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village invites you to night of frights as they celebrate Halloween with a Victorian Séance Series. These programs are designed especially for BNHV by Joel Dombrowski of www.BuffaloHistoryTours.com.  For four nights this Autumn, they will be learning about Spiritualism, Victorian mourning culture, and how death impacted the Western New York community in the 19th century. Each evening will begin with a talk and finish with a Victorian-style séance. As stated on the BNHV website:

This year, we are pleased to offer two different séance styles after the lecture: the Trumpet Horn program and the Crystal Ball program. The programs will begin with a talk by Mr. Dombrowski in the museum’s ballroom. Following a brief break, those attending the Trumpet Horn program will remain in the ballroom for a séance with one of our guest mediums. After the break, those attending the Crystal Ball program will venture out into the village and participate in a séance in one of the museum’s historic buildings.

The Trumpet Horn program includes a talk by Mr. Dombrowski and a Victorian-style séance with one of our guest mediums in the museum ballroom. There are only 10 open spaces directly surrounding the séance table and each space is reserved on a first come, first served basis. There is an additional outer loop for participants who would still like to take part in the séance component of the experience.

The Crystal Ball program includes the talk by Mr. Dombrowski and a Victorian-style séance with one of our guest mediums in one of the museum’s historic buildings. There are only 10 Crystal Ball Level tickets available and are reserved on a first come, first served basis.

Space is limited for each séance. Each program is rain or moonshine. Due to the space restraints of this event, no refunds will be issued once a reservation is made. Tickets are reserved on a first come, first served basis. Call Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village at (716) 689-1440, or visit us at bnhv.org to make your reservation today! Come spook out some specters at BNHV! Funding for this program is provided by Erie County.
