It was such a successful event for Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy the first go-around, that it will return to Delaware Park this Saturday.

"Bark in the Park" will return to Delaware Park this Saturday, August 17th, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“It’s really fun. It’s a great to come out, enjoy your Olmsted Parks, come out for a walk, while also learning a little bit more about dog etiquette in your Olmsted Parks system,” said Catie Stephenson, the director of development and communications for the Olmsted Parks Conservancy.

This event is more than just bringing your dogs by though. There will be live music, K9 demonstrations, dozens of vendors, and contests.

If that's not enough, there will also be a dog parade with a variety of contests:

  • Owner look-alike
  • Best Dressed
  • Most “Olmsted Orange”
  • Curliest Tail
  • Most Buffalonian
  • Best Smile
  • Best Strut

“I think the community embraces it. People in Buffalo get a little crazy over this kind of stuff, so it was a huge hit last year and we wanted to keep it going,” said Sarah Larkin, PR and Events Coordinator for the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy.

Univera Healthcare will also be present and handing out light up arm bands to promote taking more evening walks with your four-legged family member. If you're one of the first 200 people to arrive, you will also get a gift bag.
