Bad News for Buffalo… If You Love Snow

The news is not good for those who enjoy the snow flying around the Buffalo and Western New York area. Winter may be here on the calendar but Mother Nature is not playing along.

Ski resorts have the ability to make snow and will have conditions that are most favorable to do so since the temperatures will allow for it. But the snowmobile trails are not as lucky. I have enjoyed snowmobiling for years and the most frustrating part is not having the snow to be on! Western New York did get a good blast at the end of 2020. But the water under the snow and the heavy rain the followed forced clubs to close trails soon after.

The season is long and no doubt, we will be getting our share of snow. The lakes are still wide open and there is always the potential for winds to create the perfect conditions for a lake effect storm. But while we wait for that, the weather will be pretty calm for January in Buffalo.
