Have you ever had a really bad experience turn into an incredible experience just because of one person?  It happened to one of our listeners and she wanted the world to know about it.

It's crazy how our brains work.  We could have 15 hours and 45 minutes of our day go perfectly.  But if you have a miserable experience that lasts 15 minutes, THAT is what you remember at the end of the day.

Sometimes it's hard to let the bad go.  We dwell on it and it can really ruin our day.  But then there are those times when one person can turn that all around.  They show that they care and they're kind and somehow can flip a terrible experience around.

That's what happened to Kasia in Clarence.  This is the message she sent us:

"Hey there my name is Kasia (not sure if I’m emailing the right person) but I was wondering if you guys ever do employee recognitions. If you do I would like to nominate a man by the name of Eddie (not sure his last name). He is a manager at the Home Depot in Clarence NY.

I know nowadays it’s hard for businesses to get people to work let alone good employees that are hard working and kind.

The other day I was at Home Depot and after being blown off for about 40 minutes by numerous employees and being told to order what I’m looking for online I had the pleasure of running into Eddie who completely turned my horrible experience into an amazing one.  He was so kind and helpful. He answered all my questions and never made me feel rushed. I ended up leaving the store with exactly what I needed and extremely happy.

I think people are very quick to criticize but not a lot of people take the time to recognize . Therefore I would like to recognize this amazing manager because before talking to him  I had no intention of ever stepping foot in  a Home Depot again.

It's true isn't it?  We are very quick to criticize but when someone does a good job, it's often swept under the rug and forgotten. So when someone does a great job and turns a customer who is frustrated into a customer who is ecstatic about their experience it should be recognized.

Good job to Eddie.  We have no idea what his day looked like before helping this customer.  We have no idea what was on those other employees' plates either.  Who knows what else was on their list to get done that day.  But Kasia is right...he deserves some recognition and it's great to share the good news.

Got an employee you want to shout out?  Send your story to me.  I'd love to shine a light on them.  brettalan@wyrk.com
