Buffalo Police released a statement to urge people to arrive early for the Canalside Fireworks display.

There is nothing like the Fourth of July fireworks display. Remember this is being moved from the outer harbor to canalside. Buffalo Police are anticipating a record breaking crowd at canalside this year and want to warn everyone to get there at least 5 hours in advance. 5 HOURS IN ADVANCE!

Worried about parking? Buffalo Police said to park onPerry Street by the KeyBank Center or using the parking ramp and surface lot next to Coca-Cola Field if you plan on driving.

Buffalo Police Captain Jeff Rinaldo said,

"We would like to stress that we do not believe you will have a vantage point at the Outer Harbor for the fireworks.

We are asking people whose intention it is to see the fireworks to avoid the Outer Harbor.  There will be somewhat of a vantage point down by the USS Little Rock, along the sidewalk that leads up to the Erie Basin Marina, but I cannot guarantee that from the Erie Basin Marina you will actually see the fireworks."

Keep this in mind if you plan on going to canalside!

Happy Fourth of July, Buffalo!
