As much as we hated to see snow here this week across Western New York, it is not unusual for late April snow showers to impact the 716.

On average Western New York sees snow showers until the middle of April. According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, the last day for measurable snow here in Buffalo is around April 16th. In Rochester, it is April 15th, and down in Jamestown, the last day of measurable snow is around April 9th.

In fact last year the amount of snow we got late in April was very unusual. Between April 21st and 22nd of 2021, West Seneca got 5.4 inches of snow while Elma got 5 inches and the City of Buffalo had 3.3 inches of snow.

Looking ahead we should be all clear of snow for today and the rest of the week. Today we will see a mix of sun and clouds with a high near 48 before a warmup comes out way heading into the weekend.

Thursday it looks like possible rain throughout the day with a high near 53 and then on Friday we can expect mostly sunny skies with a high of 58. On Saturday we will see a small dip in the temperatures with only a high of 52 and then we will have plenty of sun and Spring-like weather with a high near 66.

Looking at the end of April, there is no snow in the forecast but we will see a yo-yo with the high temperatures. We will see highs between the mid-40s and the upper-50s.
