At Patricia’s Tree Farm, 4 Eiss Hill Road in Boston, you can plant your own Christmas tree.

Owner Ken Germain’s mother Patricia loved Christmas so when she passed away he decided to transform their more than ten acres of land into the Christmas tree farm in her memory with a unique twist.

Visitors pick their own tree, plant it, and come back when they’re ready to cut it down.

And to commemorate the occasion they also receive the shovel they used with the handle engraved and a personalized ornament.

All guests are required to wear masks and follow safety protocols.

Some of the benefits of planting your own tree:

  • Nothing can beat the smell of a real tree

  • Picking out a real tree is an experience the whole family can enjoy

  • For every Real Christmas Tree harvested, 1 to 3 seedlings are planted the following spring

  • Supports small tree farms in the USA (Eighty percent (80%) of artificial trees worldwide are manufactured in China, according to the U.S. Commerce Department)

  • Environmentally friendly and recyclable (93% of Christmas trees are recycled)

  • According to the National Christmas Tree Association, Christmas trees  support the economy by helping employ 100,000 people; local farmers hire additional employees, once again giving back to the community
