Did you ever consider the people you hang out with and why you enjoy their company? For me, it’s those who are older than me that I really enjoy spending time with. Call them old timers or senior citizens. But I call them life advisors.

Our family has grown over the last four years. Hank is about to turn 4 on June 21 and Teddy will be 2 in August and our youngest, Gus is three months old already! I love being a dad and because of my work schedule am blessed to have most of the day to spend with them. However, even the most dedicated and devoted mom and dad need some time with adults.

The older I get, the more I appreciate being around my elders. I was having a socially distanced beer with some buddies. We don't share blood but we are FAMILY. One of the guys is 90, the other in his 70's and we had a great conversation about life, our choices we have made and what lies ahead for us and the world!

It made me realize in the beer (or two?) that we had that I was in perfect company. Combined, these two had 160 years of life experience! You simply can't  replace the history and advice you can get from them. Books can't do it and no internet search can provide what someone twice your age has to share with you.

I could go on and on about the great stories they share. But when you break it down, there are 6 great reasons for you to share some time with someone who has "been around the block" once or twice.
