Niagara University announced on Monday that their Dean of Students has been placed on administrative leave.

More than 1,200 students, parents and alumni signed a petition requesting that Dean Carrie McLaughlin be removed for allegedly mishandling a sexual assault report.

The petition claims that a female student told Dean McLaughlin that she had been raped by a basketball player, and McLaughlin told the student that she was "trying to ruin his career" by coming forward.

At this time there is no confirmation as to whether the rape took place, or if was investigated, but Dean McLaughlin has been put on paid administrative leave while authorities investigate the matter.
