The Erie County Fair gets underway in just two weeks and it will be one people will look forward to even more, since the Fair didn't happen in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Today, Erie County Fair CEO Jessica Underberg gave a preview of what to expect when Western New Yorkers get back to the Hamburg Fairgrounds for the Fair.

One of the biggest reasons to go to the Erie County Fair is the food and there will be a ton of it as always. In fact, the Erie County Fair is bringing back the Taste of the Fair on Monday, August 16th. On that day, food vendors will offer one food item for just $2.

Underberg announced today there will be 20 new food items at the fair this year.

Some of them will include:

  • Chicken Parm Pot Pie (Salvatore's Pizza)
  • Polish Taco (Babcia's Pierogi)
  • Pilgrim Sundae  (Joe's Main Street Butcher Block)
  • Chicken & Waffle On a Stick (Dirty Bird Chicken N' Waffles)
  • The Big Dill Pickle Pizza (Pizza Amore)

The Pilgrim Sundae isn't dessert, but Thanksgiving in a cup with turkey, mashed potatoes, and gravy, to name a few ingredients.

Those all sound amazing. I would love to try them, especially the chicken and waffles on a stick. All the new foods and vendors will be soon available on the fair's website and app at the beginning of August.

A reminder that tickets to the fair need to be purchased ahead of time online. No tickets will be sold at the gate. If you forget to buy a ticket, it's okay to purchase one on your smartphone at the gate, says Underberg.
