I had a discussion with my friend tonight and it was one I've had with my dad numerous times...former eateries in Western New York.

I'm not old enough to remember the places from the 70's or 80's but when you get to the 90's and 2000's -- then that's my wheelhouse -- so here we go!

1) Bennigans

This place was located on Maple Road, between Sweet Home Road and the Alberta Drive Wegmans. LOVED their food and my dad used to always let me order an IBC Root Beer.

2) Country Kitchen

This was located at the building that's now the Original Pancake House on Niagara Falls Blvd. Some of my earliest diner memories were at Country Kitchen.

3) Four Seasons

This was another place I believe was at the current Original Pancake House building in Amherst. They also had a location somewhere else in Western New York?

4) Perkins

Remember Perkins!? They had a handful of locations in Amherst and Lockport but the one I remember was on Maple Road, which is now a Denny's. They left the area for good in 2012.

5) Kahunaville

Oh my goodness, Kahunaville. They were in the Walden Galleria Mall. I recall my class getting a chance to go there on a field trip. The place looked so cool.

6) The Aud Sports Bar & Grille

This sports bar was on Transit Road in Depew. It was stone's throw from my dad's former work and was a cool place to watch the Sabres play.

7) Frog Hair Grille

Food, TV's and golf, what more could you want? The building on Transit Road is now a Santora's.

8) Shannon Pub

This pub only closed a few year's ago. They had live music and authentic Irish dishes. One of the best fish fry's in all of Buffalo. Niagara Falls Blvd.

9) Fanny's

Another diner that was on Sheridan. I remember the sign -- it was a woman's head and specialized in dinner and lunch specials.

10) Pumpernick 'N' Pastry

Okay, this isn't really a restaurant, but rather a bakery...but their food was SO GOOD. We went to the Southgate Plaza regularly for black and white cookies. Also got birthday cakes here. Oh the pain of missing this place!

What else did we miss?
