Tell Us About Your First Driver’s Test [VIDEO]

Jaden Smith, the adorable 18-year-old son of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, had a bit of a meltdown over the weekend.  He did what any self-respecting millennial would and Instagram-Lived it.

Apparently, this emotional pictorial was in response to him failing his driver's test.  So he remains license-less.

Like every 16-year-old I knew, I was SO excited to take my test in December, 1990.

I perfected my 3-point turn.  I parallel-parked like an expert.  I merged safely. I checked blind spots every 20 seconds.

I smoothly pulled into the final spot, eager to hear the administrator say "Congratulations! You're the newest licensed NYS driver!"  I looked at him with sweet anticipation and a tear of happiness in my eye.

"I'm sorry, Laura, today isn't your day. I can't let you pass.  You merged in front of a truck."

I was speechless.  My jaw hit the floor, and the happiness tear turned into embarrassment, rage, and terror of how badly my friends would make fun of me.

To this day, I still don't remember that truck.  But I do remember flinging myself on my bed, bawling for hours, and thinking my life was over.

I passed the test a month later.
