One of the more niche Oscar categories is Best Makeup and Hairstyling, which is one of those that gets awarded early on in the ceremony before any of the really big ones like Best Actress or Best Picture are announced at the very end. But sometimes it’s the technical categories that are the really interesting ones, and this year in particular saw a few very creative makeup design moves, especially when it came to superhero movies.

Remember way back when people criticized Daniel Craig’s casting as James Bond, with some even saying he was too blond for the role? Well, the times have changed, and with Sony searching for new some new blood to eventually fill 007’s shoes, it looks like they’re willing to pay Craig the big bucks to stick around for a few more installments.

Just yesterday a bunch of new photos introduced us to several of the characters from Finding Dory, including some totally cute sea otters (seriously) and a pair of sea lions voiced by Idris Elba and Dominic West (The Wire reunion!). But Pixar’s long-awaited sequel to Finding Nemo isn’t done casting (no pun intended) up yet, as former SNL star Bill Hader and current SNL star Kate McKinnon have joined the lineup.

Disney has released a new TV spot for The Jungle Book, offering a fresh look at Jon Favreau’s live-action / CGI adventure with a little bit of new footage thrown in for good measure. Titled “Live the Legend,” the spot opens with Ben Kingsley’s Bagheera, the panther mentor of young Mowgli, explaining the (bare?) necessity of returning the boy to the jungle.

The marketing for Disney’s Zootopia hasn’t exactly hooked us just yet, but early word-of-mouth suggests that the studio’s latest animated adventure is not only smarter and more subversive than the trailers would have you believe, but that Zootopia is right up there with the best of Pixar. Speaking of which: Like Pixar, Zootopia has its own easter eggs connecting it to other Disney films — well, it has at least one easter egg, and you can check it out in this gallery of new, high-res photos from the upcoming film.

Spring is in the air, and so are a few highly-anticipated new movie releases as we begin our climb to the eventful blockbuster days of summer. In addition to big-budget outings like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and 10 Cloverfield Lane, next month also brings exciting indies like The Lobster, Krisha and Midnight Special. A new international teaser for Pixar’s Finding Dory has arrived online, and though it does not really offer any new footage from the long-awaited Finding Nemo sequel, it does feature the endearingly clueless Dory stumbling upon something that looks quite familiar. The film hits theaters this summer, and while it’s not a new trailer, this teaser should hold you over until more footage properly arrives.

The 2016 Golden Globes winners will be announced during the ceremony hosted by Ricky Gervais on Sunday, January 10 at 5 p.m. PST/8 p.m. EST on NBC. The Globes are one of the most exciting events in awards season, honoring the best in film and television...
