A great report from WGRZ today, focusing on the Pembroke Girls Basketball team and their fundraising milestone for cancer research.

WGRZ reports that:

For the past eight years, members of the Pembroke High School girls basketball team have organized a game that's much bigger than the sport. "Shooting for a Cure" is about winning off the court and hoping that more people can win their fight against cancer.

 

Such a wonderful story, I guess these young women not only practice together, but after classes, they work ensemble to collect donations and sell raffle tickets.  These girls may come from a small community but they are making a huge difference.
