2 of 3  Papa John's locations in Buffalo have closed since 2015. ALL locations in Rochester have closed also.**

All five Rochester locations have closed and have been removed from Papa John's website. A note was left on the restaurant window of the Culver Road read,

"It saddens me to say that effective immediately, Papa John's will no longer be operating in Rochester, NY."

The note blames "the heavy headwinds put upon us by New York State" for the "abrupt ending" for the stores.

I could never understand how a commercial chain business can close its doors so abruptly. Did they not sell enough pizza? I had always enjoyed their pizza. It was a great late night yummy pizza. They also had so many deals that was extremely hard to resist.

Papa John's Statement:

"We can confirm that five franchise-owned locations in the Rochester, NY market have closed. We're grateful to all of our loyal customers in Rochester and are currently exploring possibilities around new ownership."

Maybe there is some new info that we will be coming down the pipe within the next couple of weeks.

**EDIT: Original article implied Buffalo locations had closed recently. There is no connection between 2015 closings and recent closings in Rochester.
