New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo announced yesterday that the State will send aid to the City of Niagara Falls as city officials get ready to design a budget.

Cuomo said the state will advance 12.3 million dollars to the city as they try to resolve a dispute over casino payments between the Seneca Nation and New York State.

The Seneca Nation and the State are fighting over a pack that was signed in 2002 in which the Seneca Nation claims payments did not extend past 2016.

Both sides agreed to an Arbitration hearing that is scheduled for December.

In the meantime, with the money from the state laid offs in the Niagara Falls budget have been eliminated in the proposed budget for the City of Niagara Falls.
