Lyft announced that they will give free rides to cancer patients for their appointments BUT it hasn't hit WNY, yet.

This program is already in place in Las Vegas and Miami and has had much success. They are now expanding to L.A., Philadelphia, Houston, Cincinnati, Denver, St. Louis, Atlanta, and parts of New Jersey. There's talk of allowing it in NYC but no word on Upstate New York. I believe this should program should be offered throughout all the states, cities, and towns that offer Lyft. I am not sure why they are taking their time in offering this service to the other cities.

It seems in WNY we always receive things last, anyway. This needs to change especially since Roswell has been helping cancer patients in Buffalo and beyond since 1898.

If you are in a situation where you need a ride, you can always call the American Cancer Society Helpline as there are other options available to you:  1-800-227-2345

You just need to make sure you call a few days in advance.
