Laura’s Back’n’Forth Break Up — The First Break-Up Never “Takes”

And over the past few months, I've experienced it first hand.  Kind of.

Everyone knows the first breakup never "takes".  Ya gotta go back, just one more time, just to be 100% sure walking away was the right thing to do.  It's happened since the beginning of time.  (Or at least, since the Seinfeld episode called "The Dog" brought it to light.)

The problem is, when you go BACK to something, you've let some time pass, and your heartbroken brain says it wasn't all that bad. You've put them on a pedestal they don't necessarily deserve.  But then when it starts up again, you realize the same issues are still there.  And then, you have to go through the breakup again.

Well the same damn thing just happened with me.

With my phone.

I was jazzed when the Note 7 came out in August.  So much so, that for the first time in my life, I got this new piece of technology the day it was released!

And then, a month later, the first recall came...claiming they were, well, blowing up.

I thought about it, weighed my options, and decided "YES.  Yes, I'm going to go BACK TO THE SAME EXACT PHONE."  I exchanged it, for another Note 7 (See where I'm going here?).

"This time's different!" Samsung told me. "We've worked out the issues, everything's cool!" they said.  "We've fixed what was wrong," they said.

A month later...what happens?  The Note 7's are still blowing up.  Could've learned my lesson the first time, but Nooooooooooo, I had to go BACK.   And guess what?  The SAME ISSUES ARE STILL THERE.

I'm going to get a new phone today.

I'm not trading up to a newer, younger, thinner model.  I'm trading to the better model for me.  

The one that's going to serve my purposes the best.

The one that's not going to seduce me again, only to (literally) blow up in my face.

A wise man once said,  "You can never make the same mistake twice, because the second time you make it, it's not a mistake.  It's a choice."
