I called the Buffalo and suburb locations of Kmart and some have confirmed it's true while other locations are not sure at this point. It appears Kmart will open its doors for Black Friday shopping starting as early as 6AM on Thanksgiving Day.

I wonder what the staff of these store have to say about that?

Think Progress reports:

Sears stores, which are owned by the same company, will also open that day — although later, with hours starting at 6 p.m. The company noted, however, that Kmart and Sears stores in Maine, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island won’t open.

So before you put that turkey in the oven you may want to get a jump start on your Christmas shopping, or you can be like many Western New Yorkers...boycott ALL stores open on Thanksgiving...unless your out of cranberry sauce.
