Kelly Clarkson has thrown her hat into the "Mannequin Challenge" ring, so to speak: The singer shared a video of her version of the social media craze on Wednesday (Nov. 16).

Started in late October by some students at a Jacksonville, Fla., high school, the #MannequinChallenge requires participants to stay frozen in action — in other words, they look like mannequins — as someone films a video. Since the original video was shared, a number of professional athletes, musicians and other celebrities have taken part in the social media trend.

In June, Clarkson announced a new record, to be released in 2017, on her new label home, Atlantic Records. The disc will be a soul- and R&B-influenced album, but in early 2015, Clarkson told Time magazine that while she was working on her latest project, Piece By Piece, she was also working on a country record.

In addition to working on new music, Clarkson has a number of holiday appearances on her calendar: She will be performing at the 2016 National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, will serve as grand marshal for the 63rd annual Piedmont Natural Gas Nashville Christmas Parade in Nashville and will host her second Miracle on Broadway charity concert.
