Hamburg Boat Launch Opening Soon

One of the more controversial issues in the Town of Hamburg is the condition and future of the Hamburg Boat Launch. It look likes there are now plans to open the launch in 2018.

After recent reports of damage to the launch itself and the fact that the area surrounding the launch had become too shallow, it was not clear if Hamburg officials would be able to allow boats to use the launch and have it open for boating season this year.

According to the Buffalo News and a recent interview with the Highway Superintendent:

The target date to finish the work is April 15, and barring unforeseen problems, the launch will open by May 1, he said.
