New York State gas prices are 30 cents a gallon higher than the national average, so Gov. Andrew Cuomo has set up a gas price complaint hotline.

The number is (800) 214-4372. If you called it over the weekend, nobody answered because it's staffed only during the week, and you can’t even leave a message.

To register a complaint or concern, you have to call weekdays between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.  There's no indication of exactly what the hotline will be able to do in lowering gas prices, but at least the governor will be aware of them.
