Former Mayor of Dunkirk Pleads Guilty

Richard L. Frey, the former mayor of Dunkirk, has pleaded guilty to fraud. According to WGRZ Frey admitted to stealing financial contributions to his campaign for personal use.

He's charged with defrauding business owners into contributing to his campaign , but spent that money for himself. Investigators say the total amount of money stolen was $54,361.30.

Frey will be sentenced in May of this year, and could face up to 20 years in prison and or a $250K fine.
