Many people find comfort during tough times in different ways than others.

Delilah shares a story from a loyal listener on how she managed to find comfort by listening to Delilah's show:

Dear Delilah,

My mom was an alcoholic and drug addict and I was in and out of foster homes. I struggle daily with who I am and have struggled with self-inflicted harm for the last 15 years. I'm now 25 and a single mom to two young boys. I strive daily to be the best I can be for them and I wanted to message you because I have been listening to you since I was 7 years old.

When I was young my mom's boyfriend would beat her up and my mom would turn your show on so we couldn't hear. It was your voice that brought me comfort and it was your voice that talked me to sleep every night as a child and for that I can't thank you enough. It was you that showed me what love could really be and it was your voice that drowned out the screams and fighting.

My dream is to someday have a show like yours, to make a difference in someone else's life like you did in mine. You are my hero, Delilah. The nights I lied in bed terrified, your voice calmed me, and your words reminded me that there was so much more in life. Thank you for being the light in the darkest time in my life. Thank you for being you because you gave me hope when all I could see was fear and defeat.

Thank you,

A very grateful listener

Dear courageous listener,

You heard my voice.

God heard your voice.

You heard me saying sweet things to calm your fears.

He heard you saying how terrified you were, and He was there to calm your fears...

He loves you, He was there for you then and He is there for you now.

Don't give up, and don't stop praying. He wants to HEAL your heart, completely. He wants to wipe away every tear and give you joy and happiness in the future. Don't give up....

He heard, He still hears. He loves you more than you could ever dream or know...Delilah
