It's day 11 in the search for the two New York escaped inmates, Richard Matt and David Sweat.

Hundreds of law enforcement officials are continuing the search, and New York State Police have closed State Route 374 near the Clinton Correctional Facility until further notice.

Governor Andrew Cuomo released a statement on Monday:

"Capturing these killers and returning them to state custody remains our top priority - however, it's critically important to examine the circumstances that enabled these inmates to escape in the first place."

In the meantime, Joyce Mitchell appeared in court on Monday and is facing charges of criminal facilitation and promoting prison contraband. Prosecutors have argued that she gave Richard Matt and David Sweat hacksaw blades, chisels and a screwdriver bit to help with the escape. Joyce Mitchell waived a preliminary hearing and will now be moved to county court.
