Darien Lake Announces New Water Ride for 2016 Season! [VIDEO]

If you thought they couldn't top last year's Brain Drain and Rolling Thunder, think again! (BTW, I went on Brain Drain about 458 times last summer...the initial drop is INTENSE!  You have to try it!)

Today, Darien Lake announced their newest addition to the water park, Rip Curl Racer!

The $1.5 million capital investment will be used to build the latest and greatest extreme water ride.  It is scheduled to be ready for the 2016 water park season, opening May 21st.  The park's official opens is May 7th.

The ride is described as:

42 feet above the pool, six mat-riding competitors launch themselves headfirst into side-by-side tunnels and rocket through the twisting tunnels before accelerating into separate racing lanes.
Riders drop and slide down the home stretch, enjoying speed, compression and zero gravity moments as they blast into a high-velocity finish.

Sounds good to me!  Darien Lake reps stopped by with these adorable cookies set out on a kick-board this morning. They sound good to me, too. ;)
