In what could be the coldest Thanksgiving in their 92-year history, whipping winds could cause the cancellation of the Macy's Day parade this year.

With a cold front bringing in sub-freezing weather and winds near 20 mph and gusts near 30 mph, the parade might have to be canceled this year.

According to parade officials, giant balloons cannot be operated with winds over 23 mph due to city regulations.

The winds would make moving the balloons too dangerous to the crowds watching.
