In an earlier post, this morning on the Breeze, we honored the passing of the talented Carol Channing at 97.  Thought it might be fun to take a look at what made her so unique.   These clips not only highlight her sense of play, her comedic timing, her voice like no one else on the planet.  But, they also show a dynamic actress, who just exudes a lovely lifeforce.

This clip shows that Carol was singing this song way ahead of Marilyn Monroe. Actually, Channing started singing"Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" in 1949 for the Broadway production of "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes."

NBC news did a wonderful visual tribute to her singing one of her most famous songs "Hello Dolly" well into her 70s.

Carol Channing never missed a performance, even when battling cancer, what an amazing woman.  So lucky she passed our way.
