Movie and TV star Burt Reynolds has passed away at the age of 82.  The cause of death is not know at this time.

Hard to believe an actor with so much masculine energy has passed away.

Born February 11, 1936, Burt Reynolds went on to become THE American film actor of the late 1970s and early 1980s.  Reynolds actually first come to audience's attention through TV on shows such as Gunsmoke (1962-1965) and then Dan August (1970-1971)

His breakout movie role was in the 1972 film Deliverance, as the macho character Lewis Medlock.

In the years to follow, Reynolds had hits with film such as the Longest Yard (1974), Smokey and the Bandit (1977), Hooper (1978) then the Cannonball Run series in the early 1980s.

By the late 1980s Reynolds movie career was on the decline, so he ventured back into TV with the show Evening Shades.

There was one last big film for him Boogie Nights (1997) for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
