Hopefully you didn't miss out on some Great Food and a part of Buffalo History over this past weekend as a local group ( The Buffalo Urban League Young Professionals) organized Buffalo's 1st Black Restaurant Weekend.

According to News Reports, the weekend event was set up not only to expose Black Restaurants in the Buffalo Community, be of equal importance, to promote awareness among young African-Americans in Buffalo as a means of motivating them to pursue their own business ideas.

According to News Reports, here's what Babatunde Cole, vice president of the Buffalo Urban League Young Professionals, and Ta’Ria Wideman, with the Buffalo Urban League Young Professionals, had to say:

“Not just black restaurants, but all minority restaurants, small businesses. And we pitched it that way also so people didn’t feel excluded,” said Ta’Ria Wideman, with the Buffalo Urban League Young Professionals.
