DC’s Latest Kentucky Fried Chicken Promo Comic Is Already The Best Comic Book Of The Year
DC's latest promotional comic for KFC is a sequel to last year's "The Colonel of Two Worlds," in which Colonel Sanders teamed up with the Flash to fight Colonel Sunder, his evil counterpart from Earth-3. It involves an attack from Sunder that causes eleven of the Colonels Sanders of the Multiverse to each forget all but one of the Eleven Secret Herbs and Spices, meaning that they have to all team up to remember how to make fried chicken, including the Colonel Sanders of the Kingdom Come universe or the far-off future of the Legion of Superheroes. It posits that Colonel Sanders and Kentucky Fried Chicken are multiversal constants within the construct posited by Multiversity and Convergence, on par with Superman and Batman.
And it is the single best DC comic of the year.
IDW Launches A Kickstarter For The ‘TMNT: Shadows Of The Past’ Board Game
There were a lot of great announcements that came out of last year's San Diego Comic-Con, but the one that I was most excited about by far actually wasn't a comic this time. Instead, it was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shadows of the Past, a board game from IDW designed by Kevin Wilson, with contributions from TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman, writer Tom Waltz and editor Bobby Curnow. And ever since that announcement, I've been wondering when we'd get to see more.
Today, IDW Games launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund production of the game, with the finished product scheduled to deliver in July of this year --- and with 22 days left, they're already halfway to their initial $250,000 goal.
The Batman ’66 Episode Guide 1×09: Zelda the Great
The 1966 Batman television show was one of the most successful and influential adaptations of comic books to mass media of all time. Over the course of three seasons and 120 episodes, the series became a cultural force with its unique combination of tongue-in-cheek humor, thrilling superhero adventure and celebrity guest stars, and shaped the way the public would view the Caped Crusader for the next five decades. Now, in the midst of a well-deserved renaissance of the show, ComicsAlliance is proud to present The Batman '66 Episode Guide, an in-depth examination of every single adventure, arch-criminal and deathtrap cliffhanger of the series.
This week, Zelda the Great plots to ensnare Batman in an Inescapable Doom Trap... and attacks Wayne Manor to do it!
The ‘Lego Batman’ Movie Will Ask ‘Can Batman Be Happy?’
I'm going to be real with you, folks: even though we're looking down the barrel of 38 superhero movies over the next few years, the one that I'm looking forward to the most is easily Lego Batman, starring Will Arnett as the Caped and Blocky Crusader. It's been something I've been looking for ever since it was announced, but now, I've got an even bigger reason to want to see it, because we finally have a detail about the plot.
According to a red carpet interview with Arnett, along with cowriters and directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord, the 2017 Batman movie will focus on answering one question: Can Batman be happy?
