5 Ways To Relax In Five Minutes, While Listening To The Breeze
Okay, you get to work and there are over 100 new emails in your inbox, once again you have to make coffee, and that meeting you thought started at 2:00 was actually at 1:30. Life can get crazy.
Here at the New 96.1 the Breeze we are always on the hunt for relaxation tips. Here are a few from a fun online site called "The Greatest"
1. Chew Gum
According to the on-line site "The Greatest":
Minty, fruity, or bubble-gum flavor, a stick of gum is a surprisingly quick and easy way to beat stress. Just a few minutes of chewing can actually reduce anxiety and lower cortisol levels .
2. It seems Winnie the Pooh had it right just Slurp Some Honey
It seems the sweetness is a natural antibiotic, and reduces inflammation in the brain, which means less stress.
3.A bite of Chocolate. Yes, how lovely is this? Says "The Greatest":
Just a square (about 1.4 ounces) of the sweet stuff can calm your nerves. Dark chocolate regulates levels of the stress hormone cortisol and stabilizes metabolism .
4. Remember to Breathe
It seems so obvious, but sometimes we forget to breathe. The suggestions is to practice Slow, deep breaths, an instant way to lower blood pressure and heart rate.
5. Count Backward
Again from the on-line site "The Greatest":
Nope, it’s not an IQ test, but it is a way to relax. When worries are running rampant, try slowly counting to 10 and then back again to calm down. It’s harder to freak about an upcoming date or job interview when you’re busy remembering what number comes before seven. (Hey, kindergarten was a long time ago.)
The New 96.1 The Breeze is hopefully already helping you toward a more relaxing day. How about this for a new motto: Remember to breath and the Breeze ;-)
